What is more breath-taking and captivating than the working bond between the shepherd and his dog ? The sheepdog trials at the Hodder Valley Show provides our visitors with a memorable show of intelligence and athleticism in over 30 competing dogs.
Commencing at 10am, these open trials usually run into mid to late afternoon with a short lunch break at around 12.30pm, and attract dogs and their owners from far and wide.
Spectators are very welcome and are respectfully asked to keep their own dogs on a lead and under control.
A cup is awarded to the winner, plus cash prizes and rosettes to the top 6 competitors.
Entries are taken on the field, and the entry fee per dog is £5.
Our steward, Mr David Carlton, has an excellent pedigree – in 1978 he was selected for the England Team in BBC’s One Man and his Dog.
If you require any further information, please contact Mr Carlton tel 01200 446660.
